Established in the early 1980s, School of Accounting serves as an important training base for high-quality accounting and finance professionals in Tangshan. The School offers three undergraduate programs: Accounting, Financial Management, and Auditing, among which Accounting is a Provincial-level Comprehensive Reform Pilot and Key Development Discipline. It was approved as Hebei Provincial First-Class Undergraduate program in 2023, and recognized as a School-Level Key Major under Tangshan University’s “Development Plan for Strengths and Characteristics of Majors”. Financial Management is designated as a First-Class Undergraduate Program of Tangshan University. Currently, there are over 1,800 enrolled students in the School.

The School has 64 staff members, including 45 full-time faculty members, among whom there are 2 professors, 29 associate professors, 3 doctoral degree holders, and 44 master’s degree holders. The faculty includes 2 Provincial Excellent Teaching Teams, 2 Provincial Teaching Masters, 2 School-Level Teaching Masters, 3 Provincial Leading Accounting Talents, 1 Municipal Leading Accounting Talent, 1 Provincial Model of Teacher Ethics, 1 Provincial Advanced Worker in “Three Aspects of Education” (Moral, Intellectual, Professional), 2 Certified Public Accountants, and 2 Certified Public Valuers.

With a mission to cultivate “application-oriented accounting and finance professionals with strong ethics, professional excellence, and pragmatic spirit”, the School focuses on developing students in three key aspects of moral character, professional knowledge, and practical and innovative abilities. On campus, the School has established training platforms including Hengda Taxation and Finance Intelligent Sharing Center and Grand Accounting Research Center, which allow students to experience real-world accounting and finance work scenarios, enhancing their hands-on skills in financial processing and analysis. In collaboration with Seentao Technology Co. Ltd, the School has founded the Intelligent Accounting Industrial College to help students integrate intelligent accounting theory with practice. Additionally, more than 20 practical teaching and employment bases have been established in partnership with government departments, enterprises and public institutions, including the Tangshan Audit Bureau, CITIC HIC Kaicheng Intelligence and Xingcai Guanghua Accounting Firm (Beijing Branch). Students in this School have made outstanding achievements in various competitions, including “National University Financial Digitalization Competition”, “Fust Cup” National College Student Audit Elite Challenge, “National Application-Oriented Undergraduate Accounting Skill Competition”, “Hebei Province University Accounting Skill Competition”, National College Students’ “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, etc., and won over 30 awards at provincial level or above in the past 3 years. With comprehensive improvement in professional competence, practical skills, and innovative qualities, the students have been highly recognized by society and employers.

The School places great emphasis on teaching and research, actively deepening educational reforms and has made significant achievements. Over the past five years, it has undertaken more than 10 teaching and research projects at provincial level or above and over 40 projects at municipal level. The School has collaborated on projects with government departments such as Tangshan Finance Bureau and Tangshan Audit Bureau, as well as numerous enterprises and institutions in Tangshan, with research funds amounting to over 7 million RMB. In terms of course development, the School boasts 1 Provincial-Level Top-Quality Course, 2 Provincial-Level First-Class Undergraduate Courses, 1 School-Level Top-Quality Online Open Course, 2 School-Level First-Class Courses, and 2 School-Level Top-Quality Courses.

The School strives to build an excellent school culture and foster a positive academic atmosphere. In the past five years, its party organization has been honored as the Advanced Primary-Level Party Organization and the “Four Strengths and Four Excellences” Primary-Level Party Organization within the Tangshan Municipal Education System. The School has also won various school-level honorable titles, including Advanced General Party Branch of Tangshan University for four times, Outstanding Mid-Level Academic and Administrative Leader Team for five times, and Civilized School at Tangshan University twice, as well as Excellent Scientific and Technological Work Team and Excellent Ideological and Political Teaching Team at Tangshan University.
