The School of Intelligence and Information Engineering is one of the earliest established schools in Tangshan University, originating from Electrical Machinery Department of Tangshan Amateur Engineering College founded in December 1959. It was officially renamed the "School of Intelligence and Information Engineering" in 2015. Guided by the university motto “Embrace Integrity and Diligence in Conduct; Uphold Rigor and Truth in Academic Pursuits”, the school fulfills the fundamental task of cultivating talent with virtue, deepens internal development, promotes distinctive development, enhances innovation capability, and comprehensively improves its quality of education. After nearly 70 years of growth and development, the School has made significant achievements in talent cultivation, scientific innovation, and social services.
The school boasts a dedicated and professional faculty team, committed to teaching and research. The school currently has 83 full-time teachers, including 42 PhDs, 8 professors, and 23 associate professors. The faculty includes one Hebei Provincial Excellent Teaching Team, one teacher selected into the National Ten-Thousand Excellent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Tutors Database, two teachers selected into the third level of Hebei “Three-Three-Three Talent Project”, one teacher awarded as Hebei Most Beautiful Young Scientific and Technological Worker, and one teacher awarded as Hebei Provincial Innovation and Entrepreneurship Teaching Master.

“Principles of Automatic Control” was rated as a Provincial-Level Top-Quality Course in 2009. “Digital Electronic Technology” was rated as a School-Level Top-Quality Course in 2009. “Electrical Engineering” was rated as a School-Level Key Course in 2010. "EDA Technology" and “Analog Electronic Technology” were rated as School-Level Key Course in 2010. “Principles of Single-Chip Microcomputers” and “Mechanical Engineering Testing Technology” were rated as School-Level Top-Quality Course in 2012. The “Electrical Engineering and Automation Course Teaching Team” was rated as a Provincial Teaching Team in 2010. The school currently has 2,217 enrolled students, with the graduate employment rate consistently exceeding 93%, reflecting an ongoing improvement in job placement quality.
The Experimental Teaching Center of the School comprises 32 laboratories with a total area of 1,523 square meters, equipped with 1,763 instruments and devices, and the total assets are valued at over 26 million yuan. It is committed to building a Robot Modern Industrial College that fosters innovation in “industry-academia-research-competition-training-entrepreneurship” scenarios, and establishing a key training base for innovative talent in the field of robotics. The school currently houses practical training and laboratory facilities such as the Robotics Technology Training Lab, Robotics Innovation Lab, Intelligent Composite Robotics Training Lab, Intelligent Manufacturing Comprehensive Training Lab, and Robotic Arm Exhibition Room. These facilities support practical training in robotics-related technologies and open robotics innovation experiments, cultivating students' hands-on skills and independent innovation capabilities.
The school implements a strategic framework of “university-enterprise cooperation, production-education integration, and university-local government joint innovation”, continuously enhancing its capacity to serve economic and social development through education. It has signed Industry-University-Research Cooperation agreements with nearly 100 organizations, including Tangshan Baichuan Intelligent Machinery Co., Ltd. and Tangshan Xinhe Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. Over the past five years, the faculty members have published over 160 high-level academic papers, applied for/been granted more than 170 patents, and successfully completed over 50 teaching and research projects. The school has also secured approval for 99 Hebei Provincial Science and Technology Commissioner, serving 110 enterprises, and undertaken more than 130 Horizontal Research Project (Enterprise-Commissioned).
The School emphasizes the cultivation of students’ ideological and moral character as well as their scientific and technological innovation capabilities, achieving outstanding results in various academic competitions. In the past three years, students have won 1 gold and 5 silver awards in the Hebei Provincial China International College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition;10 first prizes and 7 second prizes at the provincial level in the “Challenge Cup” National College Students' Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition; 6 national and 7 provincial awards in China Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Competition; 7 national and 55 provincial awards in the “Datang Cup” National College Students' New-Generation Information and Communication Technology Competition; 2 national and 5 provincial awards in National 3D Digital Innovation Design Competition; 11 provincial awards in North China Five Provinces (Cities, Autonomous Regions) College Students Robotics Competition; and 1 national grand prize, 3 first prizes, 12 second prizes, and 30 third prizes in competitions such as Hebei “Chuangqingchun” College Students' Entrepreneurship Competition.
